Other pension schemes

If you have benefits from other pension schemes you may be able to transfer them into the Fund.

You may be able to transfer benefits from:

• Previous employer's scheme
• Personal pension
• Stakeholder pension
• Free-standing AVC scheme

You can't transfer benefits into the scheme if you earned them while you were contributing to the Fund.

Any benefits transferred from either a previous employer's AVC arrangement or from a FSAVC scheme may only be transferred to the Fund's AVC Plan. The ultimate benefits from the Fund's AVC Plan depend upon investment returns and the cost of purchasing annuities when your benefits eventually come into payment.

Any transfer payment received from a previous pension arrangement will give you additional pensionable service in the Fund.
